AREIVIM & KESHARIM

AREIVIM COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

At HIWP, being a caring community is a core part of our identity and an attribute we value highly. In addition to taking care of one another within our congregation, we established the Areivim program to extend this caring to our neighbors in the broader White Plains community. Areivim has created a framework for facilitating congregant volunteerism with various White Plains organizations, and promotes involvement with issues impacting our city. We seek meaningful engagement with the community beyond our walls, and believe that this connection enriches us all.

KESHARIM—YOU ARE NOT ALONE

Our Kesharim program aims to foster a connection between our more active members and those within our community who may feel isolated as a result of health-related issues or simply, reduced social contact. Our Kesharim volunteers escort members to shul, transport them to HIWP programs or appointments, and arrange meals and visits for the home-bound.
